The specialization is grounded in Indigenous Peoples Education with a focus on leading edge educational leadership:
Masters in Education 12 courses
An exciting new collaborative Master’s degree program, Indigenous Peoples Education, started this fall term at Blue Quills as a result of an agreement reached between the College and the University of Alberta.
The new program is a specialization within the Department of Education Policy Studies in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta. Delivered on site at Blue Quills, the program includes part-time studies over a two-year period and is the first of its kind in the area.
Blue Quills and the University of Alberta have partnered in delivering two Bachelor of Education cohorts through the Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP) over the past 10 years. As the relationship between the two institutions has grown, so too has the demand for a graduate level program focusing on First Nations education. The Indigenous Peoples Education Program is already showing signs of success, as 29 students from diverse education related professional backgrounds have commenced study.
